Role: Senior Category Manager X 3 REF 80269
Contract Length:
18 Months
Location: Hybrid/Aldermaston - 2 days max on site per week. Potential occasional travel to London
IR35: Outside
Pay Rate to Intermediary: Market Rate
Security Clearance: SC and Sole UK National

Spinwell is recruiting for a Senior Category Manager for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SENIOR CATEGORY MANAGER 

The 3 roles are all Senior Category Managers but candidates must specialise in one of the following:

  • Information Services
  • Professional Services
  • R&D Materials and equipment

     

    For all roles:

  • Understands opportunities in creating strategies within one of the categories.
  • Delivering efficiencies & cost savings.
  • In depth Market knowledge in Category area. A true SME.
  • Advisory & Guidance experience in high profile procurements.
  • Developing & designing Category strategies with Senior stakeholders at C-suite level
  • Implementation of Cost Tracking strategies
  • Providing advice & guidance at all levels
  • Experience working in a large Matrix organisation.
  • Industry experience is highly desirable. A mix of Industry & public sector is ideal.
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Negotiation skills
  • Senior level experience.
  • Need to understand external workforce, suppliers, and players.

    For R&D Materials and Equipment role:

  • Understand manufacturing and production environments.
  • Areas of knowledge will include; Academic aspect, High performance computers, Lab equipment, Production machines, explosives

 

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE SENIOR CATEGORY MANAGER

  • Senior level Category specific experience in Information Services, Professional services or R&D Materials and Equipment
  • SME/Market expert in specialised category.
  • Experience working in a large Matrix organisation.
