Spinwell Global are working with one of the UAE's leading property developers with over 280,000 square meters of land under development in Abu Dhabi and with four projects up and running and under management.  As part of their continuing growth, we are assisting them with the search for a Commercial Contracts Director to lead the in-house team.

 

The client seeks people who are either based in Abu Dhabi or are in the UAE and prepared to commute or relocate to Abu Dhabi. Please note that the client feels that previous working experience of Abu Dhabi is a must.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE COMMERCIAL CONTRACTS DIRECTOR

While securing the contractual and commercial interests of the organization at the group level, enable and guide the appointed external consultant staff to efficiently and effectively perform their defined tasks within the Quantity Surveying and Contract Administration sections. Also, maintain coherent relationships with other Departments in the Organization and with the ultimate Clients, Consultants, Contractors, Sub-contractors and Suppliers associated with the entire organization.

 

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE COMMERCIAL CONTRACTS DIRECTOR

  • Must have formal Quantity Surveying / Contract administration qualifications with a minimum of 20 years of relevant experience.
  • Comprehensive training on Quantity Surveying / Contract administration/project management and general training in civil engineering construction are necessary in delivering the job functions
  • A Commercial Director will be appointed to the Property Development Division – having demonstrated the necessary competence and experience to carry out the overall mission and key responsibilities associated with this position. Must possess the Professional Attributes which describe the experience and professional ability necessary to diligent delivery of this role, such as the Understanding of current industry related and organizational affairs, Communication, Dealing with Change, Leadership, Negotiation, People Development, Achieving Results, Business and Customer Awareness.
  • Accountable for all contractual and commercial functions, processes and procedures to which the Commercial Director is assigned, from drafting the Request for Proposal (RFP) to Tender through to signing of Final Statements of projects, and contribute to the goodwill, profitability and positive cash flow of the Company.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION OF THE COMMERCIAL CONTRACTS DIRECTOR

  • Must be a Chartered Quantity Surveyor having extensive experience in contracts and commercial administration with contractors, consultants and employers.
  • A good knowledge of the FIDIC suite of contract conditions and dispute resolution procedure is essential.
  • Should have a good command of English language and must be capable of drafting/auditing contract document and writing contractual correspondence.
