Spinwell is recruiting for a Public Health Evaluator for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH EVALUATOR
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Health Improvement Parent Health Information Programme within Public Health Wales to support them with the delivery of a Process Evaluation.
This role will report to the Principal Public Health Practitioner and be accountable to the Consultant in Public Health. The successful candidate will help develop, shape and deliver a process evaluation to improve the understanding of the implementation, dissemination and utilisation of existing Parent Health Information in Wales. You will need to work at pace and autonomously, with direction from the core project team.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH EVALUATOR
- Be experienced in using qualitative and quantitative approaches in a public health-related field for evaluation design, data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
- Be experienced in supporting the development and implementation of an impactful evaluation programme, leading multiple projects across public health, and working in collaboration with internal and external partners.
- Be experienced in leading the design, analysis and reporting of evaluation of public health policies and practices, employing proportionate, robust, and diverse methodologies (which may include qualitative, quantitative, and economic); including the development of external funding proposals for strategically aligned initiatives.
- Have the ability to assess and respond to complex research and evaluation enquiries from across the organisation and ensure research and evaluation activities are undertaken in accordance with good practice.
- Be an experienced communicator and a strong advocate for robust evaluation across the organisation and with external partners.
- Have experience in working across health systems or with NHS health professionals, with the ability to problem solve to overcome difficult situations and overcome conflict, and experience in applying behavioural models to the design and delivery of evaluations such as com B.
- Educated to relevant PhD level or equivalent level of experience.
- Additional training in research methodology or evaluation; or equivalent gained through experience
- Knowledge of core public health competencies at Master’s level or equivalent.
