Spinwell is recruiting for a Principal Designer for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PRINCIPAL DESIGNER
The client is looking for an experienced Principal Designer. You are required to inform and guide the User Centred Design approach and the delivery of digital services to meet the key objectives of the organisation across all seven digital domains.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE PRINCIPAL DESIGNER
- Expertise in Strategic Design Leadership: Demonstrated strategic leadership within a design department of professionals, effectively managing budgets and aligning the team with the organisation's strategic vision and community of practice.
- Proven Track Record in Service Design and Digital Transformation: Successfully led the adoption and implementation of the Scottish Approach to Service Design, driving digital transformation and enhancing service delivery through innovative design practices.
- Proficiency of User-Centred Design and Accessibility Standards: Championed the incorporation of User-Centred Design and Accessibility standards, ensuring the creation of inclusive, accessible, and user-friendly digital services compliant with GDS and Digital Scotland Service Standard.
- Strategic Planning and Implementation of Design Initiatives: Key contributor to the development and execution of strategic initiatives, including capability building, service acceleration, and digital product sustainability, aligning with organisational goals.
- Effective Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration: Established and maintained strong stakeholder relationships engaging with senior management and directors to secure support for strategic design initiatives and investment strategies.
- Systems Thinking Approach: Advanced application of Systems Thinking to drive sustainable change and innovation within digital and service design projects.
- Digital Strategy and Online User Experience Optimisation: Instrumental in the development and execution of a digital first strategy, significantly enhancing online customer experiences.
